John Lechner was a superb Commanding Officer. Working at Youngstown Air Reserve Base or during our activation for Desert Storm, he always made sure we met the mission and he worked tirelessly to take care of his soldiers. At Youngstown, the two units he commanded won four awards for being the best Squadrons in the Air Force Reserve in annual nationwide competition.
