Mercer County has a lot to offer. Despite the downfall of the steel industry in this area, numerous large industrial facilities still call Mercer County home. Buhl Farm Park in Hermitage offers area residents a quiet, relaxing place to exercise and enjoy nature at it's finest. Mercer County is also home to The Avenue of 444 Flags and the War on Terror Foundation's Memorial. The Avenue of Flags was constructed during between 1979 and 1981 in honor of the American hostages held in Iran. The War on Terror Memorial commemorates American lives lost since 1975 while fighting the worldwide war on terror.
